#exploreBC: Maplewood Conservation Area

There are so many hidden pockets of British Columbia I have never visited. For example, I had no idea that there was a bird sanctuary right in my neighbourhood in North Vancouver! I visited the Maplewood Conservation Area (click here for details on the trail) with my friend, Jennifer McIntyre.

Maplewood Flats is home to over 230 species of birds along with other wildlife. It's a great place to visit for an easy nature walk and an amazing spot for nature photographers. The trail itself only takes about an hour to walk/stroll around. If you haven't had a chance to go out and enjoy the sun lately, enjoy the calm, natural landscape of North Vancouver through my lens!

I keep seeing these mushrooms in the forests of the North Shore. Anyone know what it's called?

We then visited a local JJ Bean at Park & Tilford to warm up/get our caffeine fix! The pumpkin spice muffin with chai glaze (I think that's what it was called..?) paired with their medium roast was sooooo amazing.
